PROBLEMS WITH WATER RESOURCES:

In Windhoek, Namibia right now there is some issues going on about the people's water resources:

Namibia's environmental concerns include water pollution and insufficient water for its population. The nation has 6.2 cubic kilometers of renewable water resources. About 68% is used in farming and 3% for industrial purposes. Only about 67% of the people living in rural areas have access to pure water.

Nearly all of the urban population has safe water. The nation's cities produce about 0.1 million tons of solid waste per year. Deforestation and soil erosion also threaten the nation's land. Agricultural chemicals, such as DDT, are also a threat to the environment due to excessive usage. The Namibian Wildlife Trust, organized in 1982, works closely with the Department of Nature Conservation to maintain the habitat and to prevent poaching of threatened fauna and avifauna.

ANIMALS:

Ther are alot of different types of animals in this dry hot place. Some examples of this animals are: hippos, crocodiles, zebra, buffalos, etc.

LANGUAGE: The main language of Windhoek is English, but becuase Windhoek ahs recieved alot of German influences most of people that live there speak german also apart from English, and other african languages.

FOOD: In Windhoek there is a variety of different tastes, beuase the typical food is vasically a mexture between the german taste and food and the African spicy food, so it just depends on the preference from wach people. Some examples of dishes that are typical in Windhoek are: the banana bread, and the bobooti which is an african spicy dish. Also becuase of the german Influeze Windhoek's beverage is the german beer. In general popular beverges in Windhoek are alchool, citrus mixtures(with alcohol), etc. The national drink of Namibia is the Tafel lager and Windhoek lager. Names of the Windhoek, Namibia food specialty are mentioned below:

Rauchfleish (smoked meat)

Biltong (air- dried meat)

Potjiekos (one- pot bush stew)

Seafood (mainly oysters)

TRANSPORTATION:

In 1928, Kaiser Strasse, now Independence Avenue, was the first paved road in Windhoek.

Windhoek's three main access roads from Rehoboth, Gobabis, and Okahandja are paved, and are designed to be able to withstand the largest possible flood to be expected in fifty years.

Windhoek has two airports: Eros on its outskirts for smaller craft, and Windhoek Hosea Kutako International Airport 42 km east of the city.

Windhoek is also served by bus public transportation routes throughout the city.

RELIGION: The followers of various sects of Christianity in Namibia consist of Roman Catholics (one- fifth of the population), Dutch Reformed (5 percent) and Anglican (5 percent). Smaller Namibia religion groups are the followers of Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopal churches. Namibia religion is broadly categorized into two sub categories and they are namely Christianity and Islam.
